DC Hardcover Collects Shattering Identity Crisis

A harrowing murder investigation sent shockwaves through the JLA and across the DC Universe during the seven-issue run of the landmark Identity Crisis. In September, DC Comics will collect the epic mystery into the 264-page Identity Crisis HC, advance-solicited in this month's Previews.

Under the creative batons of writer Brad Meltzer and artists Rags Morales & Michael Bair, Identity Crisis generated active reader discussion in 2004. In addition to creating a first-class thriller, the killing of Sue Dibny -- and the lengths to which the DCU's greatest heroes went to find her murderer -- triggered a series of events and revelations that set the stage for DC's upcoming Infinite Crisis. This should make the collection required reading for anyone desiring to prepare for that coming storm, and for any mystery fan who may have missed out on the series.

In addition to the story, this special edition will contain extended commentary by Meltzer and Morales, the creative team talking about their favorite moments, a look at Morales's sketchbook, and more.

The hardcover is offered with two different covers: a Direct Market version (JUN050351, $24.99) with a cover by Michael Turner; and a Book Market version (JUN050352, $24.99) with a cover by Morales & Bair. Both editions are slated to ship on September 7.
