Kick into High Gear with Macross, Speed Racer Toys

Two popular examples of early Japanese animation imported to the United States, Speed Racer and Robotech, hold a special place in the hearts of collectors and anime fans everywhere. Based on the original Japanese series Mach Go Go Go and Super Dimension Fortress Macross, the American versions have spawned myriad toys and collectibles, including these new offerings in Previews!

● Macross 1/100 Scale Series 1 Transformable Action Figures (JUN06 3926): Each 6"-tall, articulated, fully transformable figure converts into Fighter, Battloid or Gerwalk modes. This series includes figures of Roy Focker's VF-1S, Hikaru Ichijo's VF-1A and Max Jenius' VF-1A.

● Macross: Hikaru Ichijo 12” Action Figure (JUN06 3927, $60.00): Featuring over 30 points of articulation, Toynami’s highly detailed, 12”-tall collectible includes a flight suit, dog tags and full-sized uniform patch. It’s limited to 3,000 pieces and ships in window box packaging.

● Speed Racer Series 1 Action Figures (JUN06 3930): Featuring characters from the classic series and its all-new counterpart, these Art Asylum figures measure 5”-6” tall and include a new DVD! Series 1 includes figures of Speed Racer, Speed Sr., Racer X (classic & new), Velocity and Speed Jr.

● Speed Racer Series 1 Classic Action Figures & Vehicles (JUN06 3931): Art Asylum presents 5”-tall figures of classic Speed Racer and Racer X, each of which comes with a large, deluxe vehicle from the original series and a bonus DVD.

● Speed Racer Series 1 Classic MiniMates (JUN06 3932): Art Asylum’s new line of classic MiniMates features Speed Racer with the Mach 5 vehicle, or Racer X and the Shooting Star.

● Speed Racer Series 1 Die-Cast Vehicles & Action Figures (JUN06 3933,): Art Asylum’s 1:64 scale die-cast vehicles include classic and new versions of Speed with Mach 5, Racer X with Shooting Star, Velocity and Speed Jr. with Mach 10, Racer X, Speed Sr., and Cyborg. Each figure also includes a DVD featuring new animation or soundtrack.

Toynami’s Macross Action Figures and Art Asylum’s various Speed Racer Series 1 Action Figures and Classic MiniMates are all scheduled to ship September 27, while the Macross: Hikaru Ichijo 12” Action Figure ships August 30.
