DC’s Minx Starts Party with Clubbing

DC Comics’ Minx imprint continues with Clubbing (APR07 0257, $9.99), a new book from two indie sensations: writer Andi Watson (Slave Labor Graphics’ Skeleton Key) and artist Josh Howard (Viper Comics’ Dead @ 17)!

Designed as an alternative to traditional teen books and manga, Minx uses the popular graphic novel format to produce stories with broad appeal to teen readers. In Clubbing, Charlotte "Lottie" Brook is caught with a fake I.D. at an extravagant West End nightclub. But her punishment far outweighs the crime: she must spend the summer at her grandparents’ stuffy country club. Now the girl best known for her mile-high platforms, bottomless iTunes account and passion for classic lit will do more than just serve time in the aristocratic boot camp. During her summer, Lottie will narrowly escape romance and end up solving a murder on the 19th hole of the club’s golf course.

The book also includes Lottie's Lexicon, a dictionary that translates the book’s English slang and enhances the story, and previews of three other Minx titles to introduce readers to the rest of the line.

The 176-page, black-and-white Clubbing is set to ship on July 11.
