Spider-Man Mourns Marvel’s Fallen Son

The repercussions of Marvel Comics’ Civil War strike Peter Parker as he struggles with the loss of a personal champion in Fallen Son: Death of Captain America – Spider-Man (MAR07 2057, $2.99)!

Artist David Finch joins writer Jeph Loeb for this special exploring the ramifications of Steve Rogers’ tragic death on the Marvel Universe. Featuring an alternate cover by fan-favorite Michael Turner that ships in a 1:1 ratio with the regular edition, this special is certain to attract variant collectors and fans of the artist alike.

The effect of Rogers’ assassination in Captain America #25 is chronicled in a number of upcoming comics, many of which have undergone title changes to reflect his death. To keep the character’s demise a secret, Marvel solicited five Loeb-written books in the February and March Marvel Previews with bogus titles. This touching issue – originally offered as Civil War: Fallen Son – Spider-Man – focuses on a heartsick Webslinger’s guilt for his role in Civil War and his pain over the death of a friend and idol.

Marvel’s 32-page, full-color Fallen Son: Death of Captain America – Spider-Man is scheduled to ship June 13.
