DC/WildStorm Stages Coup D'État

.html
Independently, DC Comics/WildStorm Productions' Sleeper, Stormwatch: Team Achilles, Wildcats Version 3.0, and The Authority bring readers consistent thrills every month. But when superstar creators team up and popular characters from these titles collide, the result will be Coup D'État, an electrifying, four-issue mini-series that will forever change the WildStorm Universe.

The Eye of the Storm epic will begin in Coup D'État -- Sleeper #1 (DEC030299, $2.95), by Ed Brubaker and Jim Lee, when the mysterious Tao dupes the U.S. government into committing an interdimensional atrocity on American soil. In Coup D'État -- Stormwatch: Team Achilles #2 (DEC030300, $2.95), by Micah Ian Wright and Carlos D'Anda, the Authority begins dismantling the government while Stormwatch: Team Achilles goes into hiding to plot the new super-dictatorship's overthrow. Spartan and Grifter's reactions to the Authority's actions, and their ramifications for Halo, are examined in Coup D'État -- Wildcats Version 3.0 #3 (DEC030301, $2.95) by Joe Casey and Alé Garza & Trevor Scott, while Coup D'État -- The Authority #4 (DEC030302, $2.95), by Robbie Morrison and Whilce Portacio, will find the Authority uncovering evidence of the government's responsibility for the atrocity, and taking control of America.

The issues, all of which are suggested for mature readers, are scheduled to ship weekly throughout February, starting with Coup D'État -- Sleeper on February 4. Please Note: Each issue will ship with two covers in a 50/50 ratio. Please consult the December Previews for each title's cover artists.

r-issue story arc -- "Here Comes Tomorrow," the last new arc by writer Grant Morrison -- should engage readers with an apocalyptic tale set in a world of highly evolved mutants, a devastated human population, and the hope that Professor Xavier's dream of co-existence (and the Professor himself) can somehow endure. Readers anticipating a major treat in the wake of another Image founder's success on a high-profile property -- namely Jim Lee's work on DC Comics' Batman -- can preview New X-Men #151 in December's Wizard: The Comics Magazine #147.

Uncanny X-Men #437 & #438 (NOV031514-15, $2.25Ea.) will team Larroca with writer Chuck Austen for the five-issue story "She Lies with Angels," a classically styled romance of star-crossed lovers threatened by their families' opposing views of human/mutant relationships. Given that Larroca's art on X-Treme X-Men helped make it one of Marvel's prominent titles, readers should expect his arrival on Uncanny to significantly add to its storytelling power.

Both New X-Men #151 and Uncanny X-Men #437 are scheduled to ship on January 7, followed by New X-Men #152 and Uncanny X-Men #438
