Topps Releases Clone Wars Sketch Card Images
Topps has released images of the hand-drawn, one-of-a-kind, randomly
inserted Sketch Cards that will be included in the Topps Star Wars: Clone
Wars Cards FEB043106, SRP $2.00 per pack), the highly anticipated cards
based on the hit Cartoon Network micro-series.
Two of the Sketch Cards, created by Star Wars: Clone Wars art director/designer Paul Rudish and Dark Horse Comics Star Wars: Chewbacca artist Rafael Kayanan, are shown here. A total of 13 artists (including Clone Wars director Genndy Tartakovsky and painter Dave Dorman) are also slated to contribute cards.
Additionally, Topps has added a bonus preview card featuring art of General Grievous, who will appear in the series and play a key role in the live-action Star Wars: Episode III.
The 90-card series will capture highlights from the popular animated adventure series with other special cards, including lenticular Battle-Motion inserts, die-cut stickers, and a gallery of Dark Horse art.
The second season of Star Wars: Clone Wars begins on March 26. The cards are scheduled to ship on April 28.
