How was your FCBD event? There seems to be lots of interest this year.
What aspect of your store makes you most proud? That we are still here and the wide selection of items we carry. Also how we make use of all of our available selling area.
What do you do that is innovative within your store? We try to pick out items we think are quality and promote them. Sometimes we will give out comics we think are good and get people to try them.
What has been your best in-store promotion? Free Comic Book Day is normally the best.
What has been your best out-of-store or cross-promotion? We cross promote with a local movie theatre often with genre movies. We put up their posters and we setup a table with merchandise on opening weekend at the theatre.
What recent changes have you made in the store? We have expanded on HeroClix and Star Wars miniatures. We have started taking orders on big ticket items, Warhammer and gaming books, instead of trying to stock everything.
What are your plans for the near future? We are looking for a big summer and hope to possibly move to a larger location.
How did you choose your store name? I always wanted a book store and I though Alternate Worlds described the reading experience. When you read, you visit a world and since the world of comics has so many, I thought it would be a good name.
