Shining Stars Spotlighted in DC’s Newest Astro City HC
Some of Astro City’s most prominent citizens receive much-deserved spotlights in the Astro City: Shining Stars HC (DEC100279D, $24.99; FOC 01/10/11), offered by DC Comics in the December issue of PREVIEWS.

Writer Kurt Busiek & artist Brent Anderson gave readers the keys to Astro City in 1995, introducing a host of dynamic, original heroes and villains in numerous Eisner and Harvey Award-winning storylines. This collection of three standalone stories are ideal for introducing newcomers to the title, and for giving longtime readers a chance to finally meet characters that they’ve read about or seen in the background of previous stories.
The new hardcover includes: Astro City: Astra #1-#2, in which the third-generation member of Astro City’s heroic First Family graduates from college and begins a life of new opportunities, changing relationships, and danger; Astro City: Silver Agent #1-#2, in which the origin, career, and ultimate fate of the city’s greatest hero are finally revealed; and Astro City: Beautie #1, in which the life-size super-powered fashion-doll member of Honor Guard tries to solve the mystery of her own identity.
The 208-page, full-color hardcover is scheduled to ship on April 13 with a cover by Alex Ross.
