Dark Horse Presents Enters the Age of Reptiles

DHP #4Dark Horse Comics has informed Diamond that Sergio Aragonés will not be a contributor to Dark Horse Presents #4 (JUL110034D, $7.99). Instead, the issue will now feature a brand new Age of Reptiles standalone story by Ricardo Delgado and Jim Campbell. A two-page PREVIEWS Prevue of the new content is now available from the Item Detail Page of JUL110034D.

In this installment, stories by creators Howard Chaykin (The Chronicles of Solomon Kane), Carla Speed McNeil (Finder), and Sanford Greene continue, Peter Hogan and Steve Parkhouse and Filipé Melo present new shorts, and brand-new Beasts of Burden and Criminal Macabre stories begin! Plus, Patrick Alexander gives readers another twisted strip and Geof Darrow provides an exclusive interview.

"When Mike Richardson invited me to contribute a story to Dark Horse Presents, I felt humbled to be part of such a line of fine storytellers," said Delgado. "With my excursion into the short story format, with an Age of Reptiles tale called 'The Body,' I'm contemplating the last great adventure . . . known as death. 'What would it be like to have a predatory dinosaur chase me down and close its jaws around my neck?' I've wondered. 'How would it feel to have my life-force leave me as I know for certain that I am about to be consumed?' Or, even more dramatic, 'How would it feel to be consumed as consciousness slowly drains out of me?' In addition to being sort of a 'warm up' to my fourth dinosaur-populated miniseries, Age of Reptiles: Ancient Egyptians, this story actually comforts me on metaphysical, universal, and philosophical levels. Everything is linked to everything, and we can find poetry in all things, including newborn flowers growing delicately out of a drying, crushed eye socket."

The original Dark Horse Presents wasn't just a flagship title for Dark Horse; it was the publisher's first title, the title that helped establish the company's identity and win over fans. It was the home and/or birth place of titles like Concrete, Next Men, and Sin City. Now the anthology has returned with a who's who line-up of creators and a wide variety of features issue after issue.

This latest issue should appeal to fans of the writers and artists contributing and the properties they're showcasing, customers that thus far enjoyed the return of Dark Horse Presents, and any comic book readers that can't resist the variety an anthology offers.
