Kidscomics.com Participation Criteria

Kids Comics.comIn response to retailer feedback, Diamond has updated the criteria for retailers to qualify for the kidscomics.com shop locator by adding new, quarterly levels. The move should help smaller stores meet the minimum ordering criteria.

There are now three ways in which retailers can qualify to be part of the kidscomics.com shop locator:

  1. Your initial order for kid-friendly items amounts to over $200 retail per month on a quarterly basis. This was the criteria originally announced, and remains in place.

  2. Your initial order is 30% or more of the total number of KID skus offered per month on a quarterly basis. If, for instance, there are 300 skus designated as kid-friendly items in the Retailer Order Forms for the three months making up a quarter, you will be added to the kidscomics.com shop locator if you order 90 of these skus or more for the quarter.

  3. Your order for KID skus represents 125% or more of the company-wide average per month, on a quarterly basis. Currently, on a company-wide basis, kid-friendly items comprise 3.25% of the average retailer's total initial order every quarter. Therefore, if, in a given quarter, your initial orders for KID skus represented 4.06% (125% of the current 3.25% average) or more of your total initial orders, you would qualify as a kidscomics.com shop locator participant. The kid-friendly average will be evaluated and updated quarterly as well.

Please Note: You still must be a participant in the Comic Shop Locator Service to qualify.

Each PREVIEWS Retailer Order Form now features a "KID" designation for all items that can be ordered to meet the kidscomics.com shop locator minimum requirement.

For the initial launch of the kidscomics.com shop locator, Diamond tagged over 800 retailers as qualifying for the service, and since that time, retailers have been added or removed from the locator based on kid-friendly comics & GNs ordering activity.

The last update took place in January based on initial orders for October, November, and December all-ages titles. Accounts meeting the criteria outlined above were added to the service, while those that no longer qualify were removed. The April 2012 update will use the same criteria and be based on initial orders for January, February, and March all-ages titles.
