Delaware's Captain Blue Hen Comics Brings Children Holiday Cheer
Second Annual Toy Drive Gathers Presents for Nemours/A.I. duPont Hospital for Children
On December 22, Newark, DE's Captain Blue Hen Comics delivered hundreds of toys to Nemours/A.I. duPont Hospital for Children in Wilmington. Kids at the care center opened the new toys on Christmas Day.
Captain Blue Hen's regular customers and folks they had never seen before brought donations of new toys to the store every day between December 5th and December 22nd. This was the second year of the comic shop's generous toy drive, which was a success on every level.
“This is the second year for the toy drive,” said Kita Roberts, the organizer of Captain Blue Hen’s Toy Drive, “But I’m still amazed by the generosity and emotion it brings out in our contributors.”
Captain Blue Hen Comics has been a Main Street staple in Newark for close to 30 years. The store is a one-stop shop for all pop culture entertainment needs for readers of all ages, providing everything from comic books and graphic novels to statues and toys.
