Fortunately, recent PREVIEWS and Marvel Previews have a number of Iron Man products that should be popular with fans of the character’s comic, film, and TV incarnations.
For starters, Marvel Comics' Iron Man 2: Public Identity (#1: JAN100574D, #2: FEB100523D, #3: FEB100524D, $3.99 ea.) from writer Joe Casey and artist Barry Kitson bridges the gap between the Iron Man and Iron Man 2 films, while the Iron Man 2 Spotlight (JAN100575D, $3.99) not only provides new movie coverage, but also provides info about what’s happening in Invincible Iron Man from Matt Fraction & Salvador Larroca, the character Whiplash, and the fan-favorite “Extremis” story from Warren Ellis and Adi Granov. If that weren’t enough, Fraction teams with artist Carmine Di Giandomenico for the Invincible Iron Man Annual #1 (APR100592D, $4.99), an 80-page one shot focusing on Iron Man villain The Mandarin. The issue is also offered in a 1-for-25 Special Variant (APR100593D, $4.99).
Collections directly tied to the film franchise – and thus items you’ll want to keep front and center as May approaches – include the Iron Man: The Art of Iron Man 2 HC (JAN100634D, $49.99), Iron Man: The Art of Iron Man the Movie TP (JAN100636D, $29.99), and Iron Man: I Am Iron Man TP (JAN100635D, $16.99), collecting Peter David’s two-part Iron Man: I Am Iron Man and much more. A Direct Market Exclusive version of Invincible Iron Man HC Volume 1 (SEP082441D, $24.99) is also still available and features a special cover inspired by the original film!
In addition, Marvel has also consistently showcased definitive Iron Man collections that can help retailers round out their displays, including Iron Man: War Machine (MAR082270D, $29.99), vs. Whiplash TP (FEB100616D, $14.99), Demon in a Bottle TP (JAN100640D, $24.99), The End TP (JAN100642D, $16.99), Extremis HC (DEC090580D, $24.99), and several others. A list of available Iron Man collections can be found here.
