New Visions Flow to Image’s Liquid City Vol. 2 OGN

A host of Southeast Asia’s most gifted comic creators contribute to a new showcase of work from that region with Image Comics’ Liquid City Volume 2 OGN (JUL100414D, $29.99), offered this month in the July PREVIEWS.

Liquid City Volume 1 (SEP082215D, $29.99) impressed consumers and critics on an international scale with its diverse range of storytelling genres and styles. The second volume should build upon that fascination with such tales as Lat's vignette of a soccer game in Malaysia; Ivan Song's poignant near-future tale of childhood memories; Vietnamese artist Nguyen Thanh Phong's account of his adventures in South Korea; plus stories from Miel, Charlene Chua, and other talents.

"The name itself -- Liquid City -- is meant to suggest the fluidity and ever-changing nature of cities," said Sonny Liew, who co-edits the collection with Lim Cheng Tju. "The second volume of Liquid City features both established creators, as well as new voices, offering a fascinating glimpse of the exciting work in comics coming out of Southeast Asia."

The 312-page, full-color original graphic novel is scheduled to ship on September 29 with a cover by Shelly Wan.
