Rocketeer: The Complete Adventures Deluxe Edition Delayed Until 11/17
IDW Publishing has refueled the jetpack to send Dave Stevens’s hero, The Rocketeer, blasting back into comic shops with a new printing of The Rocketeer: The Complete Adventures Deluxe Edition (AUG100380E, $75).
Please Note: Copies from the new printing of this edition were originally scheduled to arrive in stores on October 27. However, due to a printing/delivery delay, your copies that were scheduled to arrive on that date are now expected to be included with your November 17 shipment. IDW and Diamond apologize for the inconvenience.
Combine Doc Savage pulp-style adventure, Commando Cody chapter serial heroics, and some top-notch good girl cheesecake art, and you have Dave Stevens’s The Rocketeer. Starting as a back-up feature in Mike Grell’s Starslayer from Pacific Comics, and continuing with Eclipse Comics, the adventures of test pilot Cliff Secord, gal pal Betty, Peavy and an interesting cast of characters, put the Stevens in the upper echelon of comic book creators in the 1980s.
Now, after a long absence, the hero is back thanks to The Rocketeer: The Complete Adventures. The currently stocked Regular Hardcover Edition (AUG090961E, $29.99) collects both Stevens’s The Rocketeer and The Rocketeer: Cliff’s New York Adventure for the first time in one volume – over 144 pages of classic material. The Deluxe Edition contains all the content of the regular hardcover as well as over 100 extra pages, consisting of Stevens’ sketches, preliminaries, layouts, and more.
Personally picked by Stevens, colorist Laura Martin has recolored The Rocketeer: The Complete Adventures using Stevens’s original pages, making the art more eye-catching than ever before.
