Tokyopop Chooses Top 10 Rising Stars of Manga!
Last year, Tokyopop sponsored a one-of-a-kind contest -- The Rising Stars
of Manga ™ Competition -- seeking to find the best new American creators
of manga. This unique challenge invited talented, aspiring artists to submit
between 15-25 pages of their original, English-language stories for the chance
to receive monetary prizes and have their work published in Tokyopop's The
Rising Stars of Manga Volume 1 GN (FEB035248), which is solicited in Previews Update #567!
"All of us at Tokyopop are thrilled at the quality of work that we have seen in the entries for the Rising Stars of Manga Competition," said Tokyopop Director of Editorial Jeremy Ross. "We are especially glad that we can offer Tokyopop's quality publication and broad distribution to these budding talents and give them the opportunity to show their work to a vast audience for the first time. The contest was such a success that we plan to make the competition a regular event."

• Grand Prize: Priscilla Hamby and Clint Bickham of Houston, TX; Devil's Candy.
