Civilian Justice Solicited for 9/11 Anniversary
To honor the one-year anniversary of the WTC
Attacks, President of Beyond Comics, Graig F. Weich (a fifth generation
New Yorker), is releasing a comic book, statue and
movie.
Civilian Justice will arrive in stores on September 4, 2002 to further help raise money for the relief funds, with a percentage of all proceeds going to charity.
To promote the event, Beyond Comics has developed 2 new celebrity comic book super-hero live action movie trailers, available at: www.BeyondComics.TV. Furthermore, the book will be written up in Wizard #132, shipping on July 31, and in Kit Builder's Magazine # 41.
The movie trailers star:
• From Clueless & TV's NBC's "SCRUBS": Donald Faison
• From the new "Daredevil" Movie, Grammy Award Winning Rapper: Coolio
• From "STAR WARS", the man Behind the mask of Darth Vader: Dave Prowse
• Creator Graig F. Weich
Creator Graig F.Weich describes his new character, Civilian Justice, as "our hero. He is us, the civilians. As a nation, we must wait for justice, but in his world, Justice waits for no one!"
Weich first got his start in comic books as the youngest featured poster artist for Image Comics' Spawn (in issue # 30, which sold out) and has appeared on countless TV shows including Extra, Entertainment Tonight, the Howard Stern Radio Show, and a cameo in the Spider-Man movie.
The text for the solicitation in the July Previews contained some errors. The complete, correct text should read as follows:
"Born out of tragedy, a new war has presented itself by evil terrorists. Clint Martinson is the only man in his family not to become a fireman or policeman, for he has a dream of becoming a musician, which his family does not support. When the only love he has in his life, his girlfriend Sarah, is lost in the WTC attacks, Clint decides there is nothing left for him to live for... but he cannot let her memory, along with the other victims, die in vain, so this man, this Civilian, will rise up and take justice into his own hands to represent the emotion of a nation and make a difference in the real world (by donating A % of the profits of this book to the relief funds in NY in real life!)"
