Zenescope's New Series Flies Off Shelves

Press Release
Comic book and graphic novel publisher Zenescope Entertainment has announced that the number one issue of its newest title, Fly, has sold out of its initial 12,500 copy print run in less than one week. Zenescope is considering a second printing in order to meet retailer demand. The comic book series is inspired by writer Raven Gregory's very personal experience of his and his wife's battle with drug abuse over the course of several years.
The inspiration of the comic and its characters was chronicled in a recent USA Today article written by Brian Truitt, who called it “an insightful tale that delves into the consequences of addiction, and observes what happens when superpowers aren’t all that super.”
Newsarama's Jeff Marsick, called Fly "edgy and twisted” and "deliciously terrifying." And Ain’t It Cool News encouraged comic book fans to give the series a try, commenting “one dose and you’ll be hooked.”
"We have already sold out on the distributor level and retailers are reporting sell-outs as well," stated Zenescope President Joe Brusha. "We're going to look at how strong re-orders are for a second printing. If the demand is there, which we think it will be, we'll go back to print as quickly as possible."
Zenescope has confirmed there are very limited copies on hand directly through their shipping department and is encouraging retailers to contact Davef@zenescope.com to place re-orders.
Fly follows three teenagers who gain access to a designer drug which gives them the power to fly. The drug seems too good to be true, and eventually one of the teens starts to realize that it just might be. Now years later, Eddie is on the run from his past, and he desperately needs to figure out a way to help his former girlfriend kick the habit before it kills them both. Fly #2 (MAY111294) hits stands July 13th.
