The new project reunites Mignola & Fegredo following their wildly successful collaboration on Hellboy: Darkness Calls TP (JAN080090V, $19.95) and Hellboy: The Wild Hunt TP (NOV090045V, $19.99). In Darkness Calls, a conclave of witches drags Hellboy into the heart of Russian folklore, where he faces off against the bloodthirsty witch Baba Yaga. These events set The Wild Hunt into motion as Hellboy joins a hunt for ancient giants, only to confront betrayal, a resurrected Queen of Blood, demonic warriors, and the truth about his heritage. The fate of The World’s Greatest Paranormal Detective – and of the human race – will be decided in these tales.
As Mignola told Comic Book Resources in Kiel Phegley’s interview “To Hellboy and Back: Hellboy: The Storm,” the three-issue limited series will lead into a second three-issue arc called “The Fury,” which promises to be a huge, “apocalyptic wrap” to the middle chapter of Hellboy’s saga.
“Those together will be collected as the third book: ‘The Storm and The Fury,’” said Mignola. “It is a three-book epic, and when that ends, Hellboy is in a very, very different place. By the end of ‘The Storm,’ he's in a pretty different place. ‘The Storm’ gets us someplace, and then ‘The Fury’ is a three-issue climax to this whole Hellboy epic. ‘The Fury’ is going to be crazy!”
