Rochester, NH's Jetpack Comics

About Our Shop

Favorite Recent Comic Books: Marvel Comics' Fantastic Four (Ralph)

Special Events: We host creator appearances, in-store gaming, and participate in a city-wide FCBD.

Community Involvement: We're a member of the Rochester Main Street Organization, and we donate to schools and charities.

How was your FCBD event? Spectacular! The city-wide event almost shut the city down. We had 15-20 businesses participate and over 3,000 people attended.

What aspect of your store makes you most proud? Our children's section and our ability to adapt to an ever-changing industry.

What do you do that's innovative within your store? We aggressively advertise.

What has been your best promotion? The city-wide Free Comic Book Day event.

What changes have you made over the last six months? We're in the process of adding 1,600 square feet for gaming and setting up a back issue room.

Any plans for the next twelve months? We're going to have a dedicated warehouse/mail order space downstairs.

What have you seen within a FTR store feature that you've used in your own store? We always look for good display ideas.

How did you choose your store name? Our publishing venture was called Jetpack Press, so we used a variation of that when we morphed into a comic book store.

Fun Fact: No one has ever gotten from this point to the front door without buying something. Video Game, Horror, and Indie Comics are separated into easy-to-find categories at Jetpack. A double basket of Plushes provides a whimsical and functional display among the spinner racks.

Jetpack Comics carries much more than its namesake, as its extensive Gaming section attests. Gacha Machines form a fun endcap in Jetpack's Toys/Apparel section. Manager Rich Brunnel simultaneously handles stock and patiently awaits Mr. Kartman's departure from his shop.

From the Road Photo Report showcases specialty shops like yours from around the country. Submitted by Diamond Outside Sales Managers, the feature appears in Diamond Daily on a recurring basis.
