Red Riding Hood Hunted in Zenescope's Grimm Fairy Tales: Myths & Legends #2

Zenescope Entertainment expands its Grimm Fairy Tales (GFT) line of comics once again with the release of Grimm Fairy Tales: Myths & Legends, a new ongoing series spinning out of the events of Grimm Fairy Tales #50 (APR101160F, $4.99).

The new series is created by Grimm writers Joe Brusha and Ralph Tedesco with the first story arc, "Red Riding Hood," revisiting the story of the first issue of Grimm Fairy Tales and is written by Zenescope's Raven Gregory (Wonderland trilogy, The Waking, The Gift) and illustrated by David Miller. The second issue features covers from artists Angel Medina (DEC101118F, $2.99) and Mike DeBalfo (DEC101119F, $2.99).

"I can't tell you how excited I am to be a part of this.  Not only do we get to go back and revisit some of the series most popular characters like Red Riding Hood but we get to explain the reasons behind why these characters were chosen by Sela in the first place," says writer Raven Gregory.

After the milestone events of GFT #50, creatures from the realm of Myst have escaped into our world. Captured by the evil Baba Yaga for her sinister plans, they are about to cause major havoc on Earth, and Grimm Fairy Tales #1’s Brittany is the first one to be hunted by a monster that has caught her scent and will stop at nothing to find and destroy her before her true purpose is revealed.

"This series will allow us to now expand on past fairy tales we've already written in the original Grimm series and now turn them into four- and five-issue story arcs,” commented Zenescope Editor-in-Chief Ralph Tedesco. “It's going to be dark and twisted on a whole new level.”

This new series should be of interest to your customers that currently pick up the main Grimm Fairy Tales series, and also serves as a great jumping-on point for anyone that simply wants to see Zenescope present its own, unique take on the story of Little Red Riding Hood and other fairy tales to come.

Also offered in this month’s PREVIEWS is Zenescope’s 184-page Grimm Fairy Tales TP Volume 9 (DEC101123F, $15.99), which includes stories like "Glass Coffin," "The Golden Stag," and "Grateful Beast." The new TP is a great item to offer those that have been adding volumes of GFT to their personal libraries as well as those that pick up Myths & Legends.
